Andrea Mazzurco Engineering Education
Andrea is a Lecturer of Engineering Education in the new Engineering Practice Academy (Bachelor of Engineering Practice), in the Faculty of Science, Engineering, and Technology at Swinburne University of Technology, Hawthorn, Victoria, Australia.

At Swinburne, he is co-developing the first fully practice-based engineering curriculum in the world, which will be delivered through the Engineering Practice Academy, a simulated engineering consultancy firm. 

​Previous to moving to Australia, Andrea was a Research Assistant in the Global Engineering Education Collaboratory led by Professor Brent Jesiek in the School of Engineering Education at Purdue University. Andrea also worked as Future Faculty Fellow for Purdue's First Year Engineering program. 

In his free time, Andrea enjoys traveling, cooking Italian food, hiking, and watch Italian and European soccer.

Research interests

  • Global Engineering Competency, including, humanitarian engineering, sustainable community development, and global/local service learning.
  • Development of assessment strategies to evaluate professional skills, especially using scenario-based instruments.
  • Moral development of students and professionals across multiple disciplines.
